Organizes and conducts training of educational and/or computer programs for school food service (SFS) personnel for management and promotional development. Administers pre and post-test to all qualifying school Child Nutrition Program employees wanting to become a part of the S.F.S. Manager training class, Clerks’ training class or Cook training class. Responsible for remedial training for designated managers and/ or technicians.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Orients employees to Federal, State and East Baton Rouge Parish School Food Service guidelines
Promotes the importance of accuracy in compiling records and reports.
Schedules appointments with employees if one-on-one consultation is needed.
Teaches state mandated courses to managers and/or technicians.
Provides training materials to employees.
Coordinates procurement and inventory of equipment and supplies
Prepares employees to successfully pass the Child Nutrition Program training programs offered.
Coordinates training programs and Establishes schedules for training.
Communicates with the State Department of Education (Food and Nutrition Department) regarding manager certification programs.
Registers Phase I, II and III participants to take the state Managers' Certification examinations.
Reports needed equipment repair.
Performs preventative maintenance equipment, software, etc.
Administers pretest and post-test to employees
Provides training and instructions to CNP Managers for reporting and monitoring
Provides situations for skill practices when applicable.
Maintains a good record keeping system in order to track each employee's progress.
Prepares and grades assignments given.
Verifies successful completion of all training.
Implements a professional growth plan

Essential Functions/Qualifications/Requirements:
Education and Experience:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Foods and Nutrition, Institution Management or Vocational Educational/Home Economics. Five years of experience may be substituted for the degree requirements.
