What are the responsibilities and job description for the Account Clerk III (Temporary Construction) position at East Bay Municipal Utility District?
- The Position
East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) invites qualified applicants to apply for this Temporary Construction (TC) (up to four years) position in the Accounts Payable Section of the Accounting Division. The Account Clerk III is the lead accounting clerical position responsible for providing direction to a group of accounting clerical employees, including making work assignments and ensuring the accuracy of all work in compliance with EBMUD policies and procedures. Other responsibilities include preparing a variety of reports and documents, dealing effectively with EBMUD personnel and the general public, and working independently with minimal supervision. Desirable candidates will be familiar with this area of accounting and will have experience working with a multi-functional computerized system that includes accounts payable capabilities.
Typical duties may include:
*Preparing reports and maintaining a variety of checks related to the accounts payable system.
*Processing vendor invoices for payment via payment vouchers and/or disbursement authorizations.
*Reconciling detailed subsidiary records to data processing control totals; searching records to assist in compiling record and reports; and assisting in posting, computing, compiling, and verifying a variety of financial, statistical, and accounting data and reports.

- Requirements
1.Completion of the twelfth grade, or its equivalent; and
2.Two years of experience in the preparation and maintenance of accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, statistical, billing, or other financial records.
3.Willingness to work overtime as needed.
