The Assistant Director of Digital Outreach and Stewardship will assist in the coordination, implementation, and execution of the division’s digital communication, fundraising and stewardship plan, including all mass communication utilizing email and website platforms. The work of The Assistant Director of Digital Outreach and Stewardship will enhance existing outreach efforts conducted via mail, phone, in-person visits, and events to engage the university’s alumni and donor base. This position serves as the project manager for all mass communication via email and website to ensure a comprehensive, cohesive, and coordinated alumni and donor experience.

This position will help review and audit University Advancement’s digital presence, working cross-functionally to assess performance to date and build more effective calendaring, analytics/tracking mechanisms to monitor traffic patterns, click rates, visitor trends, and ROI. Based on analytics, develop keyword-specific content that will drive site traffic. The position will assist with concept and content development for cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies of annual gifts through email and website channels with emphasis on support of online giving fundraising initiatives such as Pirate Nation Gives and annual milestones such as calendar and fiscal year end solicitations.

This position will serve as lead web administrator for the University Advancement website and its content pages, stay up to date on ADA compliance guidelines and best practices, and monitor other universities’ websites for best practices and benchmarks. In this role, the Assistant Director of Digital Outreach and Stewardship will collaborate with various inter-divisional and campus-wide partners to assist in delivering compelling email and web content, provide cohesive branding, and establish cross-communication schedules to provide fair exposure of all divisional areas and academic partners while meeting divisional and collective Foundation objectives.

The Assistant Director of Digital Outreach and Stewardship will provide general support to meet expanding digital stewardship efforts, goals, and objectives. Additional stewardship functions within this position may include preparation work through electronic or other means for donor relations events, such as Circle of Gold, Order of the Cupola, Chancellor’s Society, Doubloon Circle, and Leo Jenkins Society.
The Assistant Director of Digital Outreach and Stewardship will be expected to be a team player and perform other duties as assigned within their scope. This position reports to the Strategic Initiative and Campaign Manager and will also work closely with inter-divisional and campus-wide partners.

Coordination and execution of division-wide alumni communication, fundraising and stewardship digital program. This includes efforts through mass email, website, and other emerging digital platforms to increase alumni communication, stewardship and fundraising in the digital space, including, but not limited to, alumni relations, annual giving, corporate and foundation relations, donor relations, major giving, and planned giving mass emails. Daily/weekly updates to and analysis of University Advancement’s web presence (give.ecu.edu) and associated planned giving website (eculegacy.org) but excluding the ECU Alumni Association website (piratealumni.com).

Work across the division on implementing and maintaining a donor portal to ensure a comprehensive, cohesive, and coordinated portal experience with accurate information, donor-specific impact highlights and timely broad donor storytelling initiatives.

Lead effort to create and maintain a divisional calendar of outgoing messages from various inter-divisional and university-wide partners. Create and maintain a digital content creation calendar in partnership with divisional colleagues and leadership.

Research and stay up to date on ADA compliance regulations and best practices as they relate to digital communication. Serve as backup to the University Advancement ADA Compliance Liaison.

Minimum Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Knowledge of HTML code preferred. Knowledge of Agilon ONE preferred
