| Job Duties | The East Carolina University College of Nursing is currently seeking applications for the position of Chair of the Department of Advanced Nursing Practice Education. The Department Chairperson is directly responsible to the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs in the College of Nursing. The chairperson is responsible for the delivery, implementation and evaluation of the courses and curriculum assigned to that department. The Chairperson is expected to provide leadership to the faculty in the department by facilitating their development and evaluation in teaching effectiveness, research and scholarly activities Specific responsibilities include:

| Minimum Education/Experience | Doctorate in Nursing or related field plus a master's degree in nursing; five years or more teaching experience in baccalaureate or higher degree program in nursing; demonstrated competence in classroom and clinical instruction; and demonstrated ability to facilitate the research and scholarly activities of others. Knowledgeable about nursing, nursing education and able to provide leadership for faculty in their development, guide faculty in course development and evaluation of students. Nursing faculty members shall hold a current unrestricted license as a registered nurse in North Carolina, a minimum of 2 calendar years experience, full-time employment or the equivalent in clinical nursing practice as a registered nurse. |
| License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation | A valid non-restricted North Carolina registered nurse license is required upon employment. |
| Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education | Administrative experience in a College of Nursing is preferred. Demonstrated ability in research and other scholarly activities. Preference will be given to candidates who hold a PhD in Nursing. |
