SALARY: $47,000 - $49,000 plus benefits (OTRS employer and employee portions paid by ECU;
$698/monthly defined benefit applied to health insurance)

The Project Coordinator is funded through the PEER-START SIP grant, a five-year grant that provides enhanced academic support to students. This position is located in the Academic Success Center (ASC) and is responsible for oversight of the UNIV-1001 Tiger Connect freshmen seminar course, creating and providing faculty advisor training, and completing other duties that support the work of the Academic Success Center and the PEER-START grant objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Coordinates the UNIV-1001 Tiger Connect freshman seminar course, including curriculum development and selection and supervision of UNIV-1001 instructors and peer mentors.
  • Creates and leads professional development workshops for Academic Success Center and faculty advisors.
  • Maintains all project records and assists the ASC Director in fiscal management of the PEER- START grant.
  • Collaborates with ASC staff and other campus departments as needed to support the work of the PEER-START initiatives (peer mentoring, supplemental instruction, and other activities).
  • Assists ASC Director in coordination and implementation of learning environment/facilities/equipment enhancement.
  • Occasional travel for training required; occasional nights and weekends required (i.e., UNIV- 1001 coordination for Tiger Prep orientation session).

QUALIFICATIONS: Two years’ experience in higher project coordination, curriculum development, teaching, or related post-secondary education field. Two years’ experience working with post- secondary students from underrepresented populations.
Proficient in the use of MS Excel. Ability to make presentations to multiple audiences. Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Knowledge of first-year advising preferred.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Master’s degree in Counseling, Education, Business Mgmt., Marketing, Public Relations or related field required.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
