Job Posting for Maintenance Supervisor at East Jordan Plastics
The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee the daily activity of the Maintenance Department supporting both the production and warehousing facilities. Maintenance technicians will report to this individual.
Essential Functions
Demonstrate a commitment to safety and participate in all department efforts with Safety as a number one priority.
Ensure that Preventative Maintenance (PM) is being performed properly and on time.
Manage crisis / emergency repair work
Participate in the continuous improvement process: major breakdown analysis, preventative maintenance, etc.
Interact with Production, Recycling, Warehouse, etc. to determine maintenance needs, priorities, and support in continuous improvement actions.
Deploy resources as necessary to provide proper support.
Monitor and suggest improvements in the spare parts inventory for the Plant to minimize downtime and minimize cost
Participate in technician skill assessment and development.
Provide coaching and counseling for the technicians in the department.
Required Skills/Abilities
Working knowledge of the process and equipment used in injection molding. Experience with plastic extrusion, thermoforming desired.
Working knowledge of the auxiliary equipment used in plastic processing.
Fluent in electrical and hydraulic blueprint and schematic reading.
Familiar and versed in electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, lifting & rigging, etc. Meets minimum tested technical knowledge.

Performance Measurement
Year-over-year improvement in Unscheduled Production Downtime due to Maintenance.
Year-over-year improvement in Preventative Maintenance completion.
Ongoing competence development of the technicians.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
Technical degree or equivalent experience
At least five years related experience.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking on concrete.
Must be able safely lift up to 50 pounds at a time
