SUMMARY:
Provides leadership, coaching, and consulting in the development, implementation, and support of
all grade levels in accordance with the district policies to ensure improved staff performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES. Other duties may be assigned.
- Participates in the recruitment, selection, training, and supervision of mathematics staff in

- Provides effective communication on mathematics programs to the Principals,
- Participates in the collaborative development and implementation of school-based
academic and special subject content areas.
- Participates in the development and implementation of grants to support math program
- Is involved in school and/or district-wide issues or initiatives.
- Exhibits professional and ethical behavior as presented in the NEA/CEA Code of
- Performs other duties as requested by the Administrator for Program Improvement.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises teachers, students and paraprofessionals.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors and Masters degree in education.
- Minimum five years teaching experience in the area of mathematics.
- Ability to transfer current research findings in mathematics into practice.
- Experience in mathematics curriculum development and implementation, in

- Demonstrated ability to identify effective instructional resources to support curriculum
- Experience in working effectively with teachers, administrators, parents, and community
- Demonstrated computer proficiency.

- Proficient in human relations skills.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical
procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and
procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of
managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and
fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as
fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to
interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with
several abstract and concrete variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Valid teaching certificate; Highly Qualified according to Federal Guidelines.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program; ability to plan and
implement lessons based on district and school objectives and the needs and abilities of students to
whom assigned. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, peers,
parents and community; ability to speak clear and concisely in written or oral communication. Ability
to operate photocopying, fax machines and computers. Ability to assume responsibility for
supervising students, understand and carry out oral and written instructions. Ability to perform duties
with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
