Position Title: Assisted Living LPN Supervisor
Overview: The LPN Supervisor is responsible for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of all nursing care provided to residents. This position supervises and guides all staff to ensure resident needs are being met by nursing guidelines and company standards. Supervisors will support the Assisted Living Director by providing customer service and active communication to residents, family members, and staff.
This position is responsible for assisting in the direction, coordination, and training of Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and Resident Care Assistants in the Assisted Living and/or Memory Support department.
Essential Job Functions:
- Supervises all staff with the medical needs of residents.
- Conducts interviews, evaluates performance, performs corrective actions, resolves resident, family member, or employee complaints, and provides feedback to the Director.
- Creates scheduled staff assignments and sets priorities. Completes rounds around the unit to ensure satisfactory care is being provided.
- Ensures that employees are following company policies and procedures.
- Monitors timekeeping such as staff punctuality, clocking in and out, and taking breaks.
- Trains new hires on providing quality resident care, assisting with medication, documentation, and reporting changes in resident health.
- Protects resident safety by enforcing infection-control protocols such hand-washing and wearing masks or gloves.
- Maintains supplies inventory and the appropriate use by staff.
- Ensures operation of medical equipment (e.g. oxygen tank, blood pressure cuff, blood sugar meter, nebulizer).
- Meets and advises with family members on resident’s health and provides recommendations.
- Provides services in accordance with Nurse Practice Act and state/federal nursing center regulations.
- Participates in admissions, evaluations, and care plans for prospective and current residents.
- Reviews and makes changes to MOR monthly. MOR must be submitted prior to the beginning of each month.
- Assists residents in scheduling medical, dental, and laboratory appointments.
- Assists physicians with completing resident examination as needed. Follows physician's orders (e.g. medical treatments) and adds to resident’s chart. Medical treatments must be ordered on time.
- Observes residents and reports any changes in condition to physicians, health care proxies, and supervisors.
- Administers and documents medications in accordance to the five rights: right medication, right route, right resident, right time, and right dose.
- Completes medication procedures that are only performed by supervisors such as crushed medication, insulin, and injection.
- Oversees and ensures the medication process is being completed by staff accurately and in a timely manner.
- Supervises and monitors medications for residents who self-administer.
- Understands the resident’s Advance Directives and follows their wishes.
- Assists residents with meeting their nutritional/hydration needs and documents on the nursing record appropriately. Monitors meal-time and assists with feeding. Checks resident’s kitchen appliances for expired products.
- Encourages residents to maintain independence with ADL (e.g. eating, showering, dressing, walking).
- Monitors urine retention and assists residents with self-catheterization. Monitors and changes foley and colostomy bags as needed.
- Maintains a safe, clean, and orderly environment for residents.
- Answers residents call light promptly (within 7-10 minutes).
- Maintains harmonious relations and communicates with family, visitors, and all members of the Health Team.
- Participates in the education of staff, residents, and family members.
You Have:
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current license in the state of Florida.
- Current CPR certification.
- Minimum of one year of Geriatric nursing background preferred.
- Charge nurse experience preferred.

Salary : $42,500 - $53,800
