This position requires an individual who is especially detail-oriented and has strong organizational skills. It requires an individual who is skilled at business planning, financial projections, and marketing. The selected candidate should be comfortable with identifying and pursuing creative problem solving and be able to effectively write and communicate concisely to various stakeholders.
Outreach - through business visits, engagement and ongoing contact with business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs.
Technical Assistance - understanding the business and client. Help Start-Ups and newer businesses to develop business plans; review plans for existing businesses to assess whether operations, products, services, and cashflows are meeting goals to advance and grow.
Review financial statements and marketing practices with small business owners, and make referrals (if needed) to other technical advisors for specific services (e.g., accounting, marketing, merchandising, etc.)
Analyze the current financial status of businesses and determine if financing is needed. Promote the East Community Fund (ECF) and other loan and grant programs designed for small businesses.
Establish the ESNDC Loan Committee and provide staff support for that committee.
Utilize underwriting practices to verify income, assets, debt, and determine risks and gaps in financing to assist business owners with loan and grant applications.
Expedite loan closings, distributions of funds, reports, and payment collections.
Schedule Loan Committee meetings/reviews and present loans to the committee. Follow up with committee recommendations.
Originate loan documents and follow-through with filings and other lending processes.
Perform loan extensions and modifications when needed.
Organize periodic business training.
Review loan accounts monthly to monitor repayments. Initiate collection calls and/or late notices when necessary. Maintain strict confidentiality of all information secured from the business clients.
Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related field – lending experience is a plus.
Familiarity with community-based economic development is a plus.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week
