Overview
This person will be an integral part of the Sponsor Finance team will be primarily responsible for originating and underwriting debt investments (direct lending senior secured products) across different industries, performing due diligence, modeling, presenting recommendations to credit committee, negotiating transaction terms, managing the execution and documentation of the investment, and monitoring the portfolio position until a realization of the investment.
Responsibilities
- Analyzing potential borrowers via on-site due diligence, financial modeling, financial statement review, interaction with and assessment of management, use of consultants, speaking with customers/suppliers, among other things.
- Preparing a credit committee memo and presenting a recommendation to the committee (orally and in writing).
- Preparing term sheets and negotiating key terms and conditions of the transaction.
- Managing internal and external counsel to document and execute transactions.
- Performing ongoing due diligence and monitoring of portfolio positions.
- When necessary, negotiating and executing amendments, work-outs and restructurings of portfolio positions.
Qualifications
- 5-8 years in providing financing to Sponsor-backed companies, leveraged lending or other relevant experience.
- Significant prior experience with privately negotiated debt transactions with sponsored and non-sponsored companies.
- Working knowledge of Mergers & Acquisitions, analysis of corporate financial statements and commercial/corporate structure.
- Solid accounting knowledge and financial modeling.
- Strong documentation expertise (1st lien, 1st/2nd lien, Senior/Mezz and bifurcated unitranches).
- Good mathematical grounding.
- Strong communication skills (oral and written).
- BA/BS in accounting, finance or economics required. MBA a plus.
Compensation
The base pay range for this position is USD $120,000.00/Yr. - USD $165,000.00/Yr. Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.Salary : $120,000 - $165,000
