Job Summary
- Start Date: November 2024
- Hours: Monday - Sunday, 10-hour shifts, for at least 6 months to a year; the family is open to two nannies splitting the shifts
- Hourly Rate: $30-45/hr
- Children: Baby due in November
- Paid Vacation: One week family’s choice, one week nanny’s choice, 3 sick/personal days, all major holidays; prorated if working part-time hours
- Requirements:
- Former professional experience providing overnight infant support
- Preference for a Doula, Sleep Training, or Newborn Care Specialist Certification
- Up-To-Date Vaccinations
Responsibilities and Duties
- WHO/WHAT: When Hollywood develops a nanny superhero, they’re going to model it after you. And this enchanting protagonist will be nocturnal, patient, kind, and their master superpower will be attentiveness. We’re looking for one or even possibly two outstanding overnight newborn care specialists. These first-time parents want the best nannies in the industry on their all-star team, and if you think that’s you then keep reading! The baby arrives in November and coverage will be needed for 10 hours each evening, seven days per week. The intent is to divide this schedule between two exceptional nannies. What that looks like is TBD and can be two part-time specialists, or one full-time and one part-time… So please specify what type of hours you’d prefer when applying. Your character and qualifications are what make you a world-class nanny, and that’s more important than your availability. Your shifts will start late in the evening, when you’ll arrive alert and enthusiastic about spending the night snuggling and observing the newborn. You’ll hold, comfort, feed, burp, change, and guide the baby back to sleep. While the little one’s awake, you’ll engage the tiny, formative mind by reading books about different cultures and quietly singing soothing lullabies—BIG bonus points if you can do so in a second language. This couple is worldly and highly educated, and they value similar qualities in a potential nanny. As healthcare professionals, they know germs are the story’s villains, and they keep their home immaculate. And while the baby sleeps, you’ll help them with that mission. This includes folding some laundry, washing bottles and dishes, restocking the nursery supplies, and keeping things hygienic, organized, and tidy. There are no pets, no allergies and this is an alcohol-free home. You don’t need to know how to swim or drive anywhere, however, the more certifications and qualifications you hold the better!
