EASTCONN is recruiting for a full time Senior Accountant position. Under the general supervision of the Chief Financial Officer, as a Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health and integrity of our organization.
You will be responsible for overseeing various accounting functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and providing strategic financial insights to aid in decision-making processes. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams and contribute to the overall success of our non-profit organization.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements.
- Oversee the reconciliation and maintenance of general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established guidelines.
- Lead the preparation and submission of financial reports, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and requirements.
- Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide financial insights and support strategic planning initiatives.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial assets and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
- Assist in the coordination of audits and ensure timely completion of audit requirements.
- To do related work as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred.
- Proven experience (at least 5 years) in a senior accounting role, demonstrating a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Extensive knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., MUNIS or similar platforms).
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
