Technology Specialist (Web Applications)
EASTCONN
HAMPTON, CT
The Web Applications Technology Specialist responsibilities include web infrastructure management, web content management, web services coordination, web product design, web product management, and web product training. This includes the development of campaigns and initiatives to maintain and expand EASTCONN's online presence, and to expand the customer base for EASTCONN web-delivered services. Other responsibilities may include assisting I.T. team with end-user support, help desk, troubleshooting, and system administration.
Duties:
- Manage HTTP servers, CMS systems, and related support systems
- Manage digital content for web and other media for EASTCONN and regional customers
- Participate on web services, applications development, and communications teams
- Maintain customer contact; serve as point of contact for web product support
- Establish and maintain effective working relations with professional groups and other potential customer outlets
- Develop expertise with and maintain web content in Joomla, Wordpress, or other CMS systems.
- Write and maintain user-friendly documentation; provide training virtually and f2f
- Run periodic reports on web and product utilization
- Work closely with the IT team to provide end-user support and issue resolution for EASTCONN and for external customers
- Set up equipment for video production; capture video; edit content post production
- Represent EASTCONN at conferences and other events
- Other duties as assigned
- Local periodic travel required; vehicle, auto insurance, and valid driver's license required
Qualifications:
- Ability to balance technical, aesthetic, and customer requirements while designing digital content
- Expertise in HTML and CSS, and a working knowledge of PHP.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with other technical and marketing specialists
- Expertise using Joomla or other content management systems
- Exceptional time management skills
- Ability to quickly learn and use new technology
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to research & solve complex issues independently
- Ability to analyze systems and make recommendations for solutions
- An AA/AS degree in technical or design-related field
Preferred Experience:
- Three to five years of progressive, professional field experience, or a combination of education and experience
- Experience in marketing
- Skills with Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.
- Familiarity with K-12, adult educations, and/or early childhood environments
- BA/BS degree in technical field
