Easterseals Central & Southeast Ohio, Inc. is looking to hire a Special Events and Community Engagement Manager to develop and implement an organizational strategy for corporate and individual shareholders with an emphasis on planning and executing special events and volunteer activation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Develop and implement a comprehensive event plan of work (cultivation, involvement, solicitation, stewardship, and recognition) to generate needed operating revenue from individuals and corporations.

2. Develop strategies within the events plan of work to increase donor base, volunteer involvement, and insure the effectiveness of Easterseals message at all event venues.

3. Plan, organize, coordinate, and direct all special events. To include development of sponsorship plans and documentation to support key events.

4. Work closely with the Marketing Manager to support coordination of social media platform marketing to include Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and website content in addition to volunteers for event.

5. Develop systems for gathering, analyzing, and improving data management that improve the marketing and execution of events and maintain records on event activities, progress, status, and post event summary.

6. Attend events to oversee activities and ensure details are handled as planned, orchestrate special events committee meetings, and negotiate contracts with venues and vendors for a variety of goods and services related to special event planning.

7. Develop and manage revenue and expense budgets to support the events plan of work.

8. Develop, implement, and manage a quality control system to support organizations and individuals that wish to conduct events to benefit Easterseals.

9. Work with the Chief Development Officer and the Board to develop and implement new special event or engagement activity ideas.

10. Collaborate with Chief Development Officer on moves management program. As well as to identify potential new donors to steward who have attended events.

11. Oversee both internal and external event volunteers, develop an engagement strategy that advances ways to increase engagement, and deepen relationships with individuals, new target audiences, and affiliated organizations.

12. Ensure volunteers have a positive experience and utilize relationship building to maximize volunteer retention, ensure effective communication with volunteers and community partners, and ensure accurate mechanisms to track, measure and report the impact of volunteers.

13. Provide professional and timely support to the Chief Development Officer, board, volunteers, and donors as needed, maintain confidentiality of information gathered by organization.

14. Additional assignments as designated by the Chief Development Officer.

EXPERIENCES:

· Strong logistics management and ability to multi-task.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.

· Ability to organize, improvise, and solve problems.

· Strong relationship building aptitude – ability to interact comfortably with persons of diverse social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds.

· Excellent program management skills with attention to detail at every step.

· Ability to lead and manage teams or committees.

· Ability to think creatively.

· Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, communications, or its equivalent in experience required.

· Three years fundraising, marketing, business development, and/or public relations experience required.

· Demonstrated knowledge of fundraising, grant writing, media relations or similar is required.

· Direct experience in planning and conducting special events/conferences.

· Strategic planning, Budgeting abilities, and Knowledge of developing communication media including printing pieces, solicitation letters, web content and PowerPoint presentations is a plus.

SKILLS:

· A customer-service oriented attitude with attention to detail.

· Demonstrated team leadership.

· Superior written and verbal communication skills including related attributes such as tact, poise, deportment, and appropriate self-assuredness.

· Skills in program management/oversight from conception to completion.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

· May be required to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.

· Frequently requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, and reaching.

Pay: $52,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
