The Assistive Technology Specialist will provide itinerant evaluation, training, and technical support services related to the use of assistive technology in the community to adult persons with varied disabilities. This position will be based out of the Southeastern MA region.
Essential Functions:
- Perform clinical evaluation of client’s needs for adaptive technology.
- Provide training related to computer technology and adaptive equipment to individual clients and/or caregivers.
- Coordinate equipment requisitions with clients, funding agencies and other interested parties, and provide installation of equipment as needed.
- Provide consultation services to clients and contracting agencies regarding assistive technology both by phone and in person
- Conduct professional education programs.
- Maintain appropriate documentation based on professional practice, regulatory requirements, Easterseals policies and procedures, contracting agency requirements and third party payor guidelines.
Other Functions:
- Achieve established productivity standards based on job assignment.
- Submit paperwork and billing requirements in a timely manner in accordance with agency standards and with strict adherence to deadlines.
- Provide written information to third party payers, contract agencies and equipment vendors.
- Other duties and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or two years of related experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Access, and Excel.
- Must have working knowledge of assistive technology with strong computer experience.
- Previous work with persons with disabilities.
- Demonstrated knowledge of disability related issues preferred.
- Able to travel statewide and have access to reliable transportation
- Must pass extensive background checks and provide professional references.
- If selected for hire, candidates must be able to provide a recent physical indicating the ability to perform the essential functions of the job either with or without accommodations, proof of negative TB test, and required immunizations (including fully vaccinated status for Covid-19).
Work Schedule:
- Full Time - 35 hours per week
- Willing to adjust work schedule to accommodate needs of client/contracting agency.
