Due to continued growth, we are seeking an organized and highly efficient Dispatcher to join our dynamic team in Auburn, ME. A successful candidate will be responsible for the coordination of all our dispatch activities including scheduling, routing, and tracking of our fleet. They will serve as the main point of contact for drivers, ensuring smooth communication and handling any issues that arise during operations. As a Dispatcher, you will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule and Dispatch: Efficiently schedule and dispatch drivers and vehicles to appropriate locations according to customer requests, specification, or needs.
- Coordination: Monitor personnel and equipment locations and utilization to effectively coordinate service and schedules.
- Communication: Relay work orders, messages, and information to and from drivers, supervisors, and field inspectors using telephones or two-way radios.
- Problem Solving: Address any issues or emergencies that arise, providing solutions to drivers and coordinating with other team members as necessary.
- Record Keeping: Maintain files and records of customer requests, work or services performed, charges, expenses, inventory, and other dispatch information.
- Prioritization: Prioritize calls and service orders based on urgency and importance.
- Tracking: Monitor the route and status of field units to manage and prioritize their schedule and ensure timely completions.
- Customer Service: Communicate with customers to provide updates and handle service-related inquiries.
- Data Entry: Accurately enter data into computer systems and maintain logs and records of calls, activities, and other information.
- Compliance: Ensure all dispatch operations comply with company policies and procedures as well as relevant regulations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Dispatcher or in a similar role.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficient in using dispatch software and MS Office applications.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle high-stress situations.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in logistics or related fields is a plus.
