What are the responsibilities and job description for the Journeyman Lineman/Troubleman position at Eastern Iowa REC?
The Cooperative has immediate openings in our DeWitt, Lone Tree and Wilton locations for a journeyperson lineperson.
Responsibilities include but not limited to: performance of all skills and labor required in construction, operation and maintenance of Cooperative transmission and distribution lines; to have full knowledge and responsibility of locating and eliminating any trouble which may develop on the lines of the Cooperative; to work on lines either dead or energized at voltages up to the maximum voltage of the system; to perform similar and less skilled work as required to the end that effective service is furnished to Cooperative members; and to carry an equitable share of the workload.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Must be high school graduate or equivalent.
- Graduate of a line school and have successfully completed a certified apprenticeship program.
- Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
- Must possess the necessary skills required to accomplish tasks assigned.
Background and pre-employment physical and illegal substance test is required.
