What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mobile Outreach Meals - Worker position at Eastern Michigan Division?

Summary/Primary Purpose: Lee County, Iowa is one of the highest food insecure counties in Iowa. During the school year children are fed at school with breakfast and lunch, however, in the summer many children go without proper nutrition. Working in conjunction with the Keokuk School District, The Salvation Army provides a meal per day to children throughout Lee County who are not able to walk to the school for a free summer lunch.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Distribute and serve food as necessary, following the Safe Food Handling requirements.
- Help prepare the food for distribution to the children.
- Interact with local children to ensure they eat nutritiously balanced meals.
- Build quality healthy relationships with children from the local community through positive interactions.
- Be a positive example and reflect the love of Jesus Christ, keeping this environment as uplifting and safe as possible.
- Perform other duties as assigned related to the Mobile Outreach Meals program. i.e.: set-up area for children to eat. Clean-up site afterwards.
- This position may require you to work hours outside of normal business hours, including holidays and weekends.
- All other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience: High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
