Assistant Professor of Business

Position Summary:
The College of Business at Eastern New Mexico University is an ACBSP accredited school that seeks candidates for a full-time Assistant Professor of Business tenure track position. The candidate will have a primary interest in teaching in the field of business strategy. Preference will be given for candidates who can teach in other areas of business, have online teaching experience, and those who have industry experience.

This is a residential appointment starting in August 2024, with the candidate expected to relocate to the Portales, New Mexico area. The college provides quality, student focused business education preparing individuals for professional careers, graduate studies, and lifelong learning.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The candidate will have the interest and ability to teach at the undergraduate level (BBA) and graduate level (MBA) in business strategy.

This position may require additional teaching responsibilities. Faculty responsibilities include:

• Teach (12 credit hour load) as assigned each semester in face-to-face, lecture-capture and/or web platforms.
• Provide advising for undergraduate students (residential and distance students).
• Assist with development of new curriculum and assessment to support program-learning outcomes.
• Serve on departmental and university committees.
• Develop appropriate scholarly activity commensurate with rank and experience (tenure track).
• Contract is for nine (9) months. Additional summer contracts may be available, based on college need.
• Publication is required for tenure.
• Other duties as assigned.

• The position requires the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
• Teaching experience in Web-based instruction and/or distance education is highly desirable.
• Knowledge/experience with business strategy.

Physical Demand and Working Conditions:

• Work is performed during normal work hours but may require some evening or weekend hours. Work is sedentary in nature that at times requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
