Functions
Has day-to-day implementation responsibility for detail planning and scheduling the OPC work-related Electrical Program Team, including the development of the Integrated Master Schedule inputs including the development of work packages, logical relationships, resource loading, integration with other IPT plans, Critical Path Analysis, and change management.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Because Eastern Shipbuilding is continually growing to meet the needs of our customers, the essential duties and responsibilities may be different than described.
- Maintain ethics that represent Eastern Shipbuilding.
- Develop LOE support work packages/work orders, for support groups to support the master schedule.
- Generate, monitor, and maintain work package changes driven by ECNs or ECPs.
- Update and monitor labor/material estimates and actual performance at the work order level.
- Design and create scheduling and staffing models that provide the best optimization of labor, cost, and efficiency.
- Lead the work order release and closure process.
- Lead BCR coordination and workflow.
- Perform work in accordance with ESG’s ISO standards, Planning and Scheduling Excellence, and EVMS system description.
- Identify/Implement BCRs
- Assist CAMs with schedule, labor, and Subcontractor Management.
- Assist/Create, Run Reports Weekly/Monthly
- Maintain High Standards in Schedule Quality
- Support CAMs in VAR Analysis
- Coordinate planning for one or multiple projects
- Communicate with CAMs to determine updates of assigned work.
- Expedite operations that delay production schedules and alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
- Ensure the smooth and cost‐efficient flow of production operations through information management and sharing.
- Provide information needed for Earned Value Management reporting.
- Regular attendance at work and the ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Reporting Relationship
This position will report to the OPC Planning & Scheduling Manager.
Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience: Education/Experience: BA/BS Degree in Business Administration, Management, Construction, or Engineering with 1-2 years of experience as Junior Planner or Project Management support desired. Electrical trade experience and an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance. Experience with Primavera P6 or other Scheduling Software in a resource-loaded EVMS Schedule. Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications, and blueprints, specifically inter‐system requirements/relationships. Experience in industrial engineering, shipbuilding, and production processes. Experience working in a manufacturing or shipbuilding environment and government contract work desired. Cost Accounting background a plus
Skills: Intermediate to advance level Microsoft including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to rapidly obtain, sort, filter, and analyze large volumes of data for distillation into high-level reports. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to show initiative and innovation, adapt to ambiguous and fast-paced situations, and track, manage and prioritize multiple tasks with strict deadlines.
Requires excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from senior management, employees, government officials, and the public exercising diplomacy and tact. Ability to communicate effectively and to forge and sustain outstanding client relationships while managing and executing multiple workstreams. Demonstrate strong analytical and conceptual skills. Ability to lead multi-system integrated product teams. Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
