Purpose

Talent Management Specialist assists in the implementation of programs that aim to attract, measure, develop and manage an organization’s talent pool. Helps management evaluate the effectiveness of the organization’s talent strategies.

Functions

ESSENTIAL

  • Suggest aligning talent to training or development programs to ensure organizational goals are met
  • Manage talent review process (performance management) and succession planning
  • Partner with management around learning and develoment functions
  • Develop strategies for employee skill assessments, including exploring and identiying technology to support this process and how to tie skill gaps to development opportunities
  • Support Talent Acquisition in the areas of job descriptions, souricing, and onboarding
  • Conduct individual development activiites and leadership coaching
  • Ability to build and maintain strong collaborative relationships
  • Influiences stakeholders of all levels
  • Experience driving change within an organization

NON-ESSENTIAL

Broad experience and knowledge across HR disciplines

Previous experience in managing complex, cross-functional programs and initiatives

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities

Reporting Relationship

This position will report to the Human Resources Manager

Qualifications

REQUIRED

  • 5 years experience in a similar role
  • Highschool diploma or equivalent

DESIRED

Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development, Organizational Behavior, Organizational Leadership, Human Resources or Business Administration strongly preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Experience managing talent programs for shipyard crafts: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Delivering Talent Programs: 5 years (Required)
  • Certified MBTI Practionier (Preferred)
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills

Working Conditions

This position is considered OFFICE WORK which is characterized as follows.

  • Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night
  • Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the work place
  • Work surface is stable (flat)
