Overview

Scholarship Manager shall have the primary responsibility to manage the student scholarship application process for the awarding of EVMS scholarship funds, outside scholarships and state grants received by the University. They will act as the liaison with Development and Foundation Staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a high level of administrative support for all aspects of the scholarship and state grant process.
  • Serve as the first line of contact for telephone and electronic communication with students, academic institutions, alumni, partners, and others inquiring about scholarships and state grants.
  • Assist with updating scholarship calendars and timelines with key dates, deadlines, and report dates.Provide scholarship awarding updates to Development Office, as needed.
  • Utilize scholarships system reports to determine student eligibility for awards.
  • Identify and implement improvements in job-related processes.
  • Maintain communications with students and partner departments.
  • Coordinate and oversee award nominations for approval by EVMS Scholarship Committee.
  • Conduct EVMS Scholarship Committee meetings as necessary.
  • Complete needs analysis for awarding of Virginia State Scholarships.
  • Collaborates with university staff and other offices in strategic and operational planning aimed at delivering outstanding student services.
  • Perform fund reconciliation analysis and report for all Scholarship and Grants Programs for Development, Diversity and Inclusion, The Foundation & Financial Services.
  • Review and update student information on all required platforms, including, but not limited to CNS and Award Management.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and responsibilities as required or deemed appropriate to the accomplishments of the responsibilities and functions of the department financial aid.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Director and/or Associate Director.

 

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) plus three (3) years of relevant experience in financial aid regulations, policies, and coordination of student aid programs required. Proficient in Microsoft Office with emphasis in EXCEL and power point applications. Must be able to secure National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) access. Ability to learn new computer applications/systems such as PowerFAIDS, Campus Nexus, Ultra Edit and purchase order system. Ability to conduct internet based research on requested topics. Ability to understand and disseminate general knowledge of financial aid requirements and processes. Ability to understand general FERPA (privacy) requirements and responsibilities. Must be detailed oriented, possess strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
