What are the responsibilities and job description for the Discovery Garden Playgroup Lead position at Easterseals Central & Southeast Ohio, Inc.?
This position requires travel in Franklin County and Hocking County and will work 25 hours per two week pay period.
PURPOSE: To manage and oversee all aspects of the Discovery Garden Playgroup in assigned counties.
Discovery Garden Family Playgroup offers developmentally appropriate activities for children and their caregivers to participate in together. Our Playgroup will provide opportunities for socializing, learning, and enrichment for both children and adults.
Early experiences are a key component for the developmental foundation of relationships, exploring and learning, communication, playing and moving.
By focusing on healthy family relationships, we will provide support to families and children so that they can maximize their learning potential.
The intentional philosophy of Discovery Garden is that it is intergenerational, diverse, inclusive, and always free of charge. Once registered, families may attend every week.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Promote, enroll, and maintain enrollment in assigned counties.
- Administration and operation of Discovery Garden Playgroup in assigned counties.
- Complete enrollment paperwork on all children and families.
- Record and track attendance at each weekly playgroup for data collection purposes.
- Plan and prepare all items necessary for each weekly playgroup. This is to include lesson plans, activities, newsletters, parent handouts, and any other materials to enhance the experience for families.
- Complete, input, and process ASQ on all children upon enrollment and every six months thereafter.
- Maintain ASQ data on each child to monitor success of the program.
- Complete monthly attendance reports.
- Manage annual budget. Work with Director of Children’s Programs to complete annual budget.
- Maintain and monitor compliance with HIPAA privacy standards.
- All other duties as assigned by the Director of Children’s Programs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Science / Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field
- 3 – 5 years teaching in an early childhood setting preferred.
EXPERIENCES:
- Possess a superior level of personal and business integrity and ethics
- Understand how regulations and standards pertain to early childhood education
- Effective oral and written communications as it pertains to early childhood education.
- Exceptional customer service both internally and externally
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills and managing multiple priorities
- Financial acumen to include creating and managing a departmental budget
