What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant I position at Easterseals Michigan?
Summary:
Prepares monthly financial records and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information. Review of accounts payable processing and reporting. Preparation of monthly journal entries and allocations. Assist with year-end close procedures and yearly audits. Maintain AP Invoices entry and scanning, including coding and approval processes. Assists in the preparation of yearly audits and tax filings. Balance and/or reconcile General Ledger accounts and Bank accounts monthly. Maintain accounts payable for all programs. Manage and Review Expense Reports and Files. Separates and mails AP checks. Assist with client/insurance payment recording within EHR. Receive and scan checks into bank’s remote deposit system. Prepares coding spreadsheet for accounting. Attends board Finance and Committee meetings.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in accounting or related field.
- Excellent organizational and project planning skills with the ability to work on several priorities simultaneously, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Computer literacy and competency with Microsoft Office Professional package including demonstrated proficiency in Access, Excel, and Word.

Required- Bachelors or better in Accounting
