- Responsible for managing all administrative and programmatic functions related to behavioral health services in Macomb County.
- Enforces agency policies and procedures. May develop new policies and procedures to support programming for individuals served, including applicable grants.
- Oversees and manages the budget, including any/all contracts and grants assigned. Authorizes expenditures and secures additional funding sources to support the program.
- Instructs, assigns, schedules, checks and appraises performance. Hires, approves disciplinary action and discharge, and approves pay increases and/or promotions.
- Reviews case records with subordinate supervisors to ensure quality.
- Assists staff in improving and updating professional skills by providing them with information such as pertinent conferences and seminars, new techniques in the field and current and pending legislation affecting mental health services.
- Acts as a liaison with community agencies, parent support groups, and other service providers, maintaining an awareness of the full range of human services available in the community to support client needs.
- Ensures that paperwork is maintained in accordance with Medicaid and MDHHS guidelines, as well as Easterseals policies and procedures, contractor and grant requirements.
