When you work as an Assistant Instructor during the day, your role is crucial in supporting the classroom teacher, attending to students' physical and emotional well-being, and overseeing the class when the teacher is occupied. You actively participate in meetings and training sessions, ensuring you stay updated and well-equipped. Managing classroom supplies and providing assistance to students facing behavioral challenges are also part of your responsibilities. On non-school days, you take on residential duties. Collaborating with the teacher, you contribute to the development of lesson plans, behavioral strategies, and engaging extracurricular activities. Furthermore, you take the lead in organizing community-based recreational activities and supervising students at work sites. DO YOU MEET THESE REQUIREMENTS?
- High school education or GED - Bachelor's degree preferred
- 2 years of practical experience
- Level I NYS Teacher Assistant Certification
