We have an immediate need for a Director of Events in Manchester, NH!
The successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation and management of fundraising events and activities for the Agency. The Director of Events is responsible to analyze events and develop new fundraising strategies and goals that broaden the base of support. This position works closely with Veterans Count and collaborates with a number of local boards and existing staff members. Other essential duties are listed below.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Work to enhance relationships and create greater fundraising and outreach possibilities.
- Develop and manage budgets relating to special events and oversee cash management at the events.
- Develop long-term strategies for cultivation of new donors.
- Plan, implement, promote and evaluate assigned public relations, events or activities and other fundraising vehicles conducted by and for the Agency.
- Manage all aspects of special events, including recruitment, retention, logistics and new program development.
- Organize, coordinate and supervise volunteers at special events.
- Provide advice and logistical support to corporate partners to help them achieve their fundraising goals. Includes meeting with planning committees and attending special events.
- Represent the Agency at business and community events/meetings/functions in a public relations capacity.
- Research new public relations/fundraising events for the agency. Identify, cultivate and solicit donors including individuals, corporations and/or foundations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum 3 - 5 years’ experience in events planning and management
- Prior sales or event management, and volunteer/team management preferred
- Proficient in development tracking (Raisers Edge preferred) software and MS Office products
- Strong verbal, written and organizational skills
Hours: This is a full time (40 hours) salaried position with a flexible schedule to accommodate occasional evening and weekend needs
