Responsibilities
- Performs all duties in accordance with safety expectations.
- Fills in logs and operating reports
- Determines equipment and process problems utilizing drawings and procedures
- Monitors plant inventories Responds to plant alarms and emergencies
- Responsible for making contacts with maintenance, other supporting departments and supervision regarding operating problems or irregularities
- Makes equipment safe for operation, cleanout or repair
- Dismantles, inspects, and cleans process lines and equipment
- Operator performs confined space permits and authorizes Hot Work permits per procedure
- Moves material and supplies using material handling equipment such as hand trucks, fork lifts, and transtackers
- Transfers material to and from railcars, tank trucks, hopper trucks and warehouse
- Assembles containers, packs material and prepares material for movement . Collects and test process samples for testing by others
- And all other tasks assigned
Qualifications
- A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Strong troubleshooting skills, problem solving skills, and mechanical aptitude
- High degree of initiative and ability to plan, prioritize, and work with minimal supervision
- Effective listening skills, responsive to questions, comments suggestions feedback
- Ability to work effectively in a team based organization
