JOB SUMMARY
The Construction Project Engineer (CE) is an entry level Construction Management position that will provide the opportunity to gain experience and knowledge in construction projects. The CE will learn and manage the basics of document control processes, schedule sequencing rationale, and basic estimating assistance. Under general supervision from the Vice President, the CE will manage specific low-risk subcontracts and will support the Field supervisors to ensure the projects success. Various administrative duties will be assigned to the CE that will ensure a well-rounded understanding of the Company’s construction processes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Ø Administration of document control processes including the RFI and submittal workflows, updating and distributing all project documentation to ensure utilization of the most current documents
Ø Assist with the performance of specific management tasks as requested to assist in completing work and becoming familiar with requirements of the project
Ø Review submittals, purchase material, track shipments, and confirm deliveries.
Ø Assist with Change Order requests, Owner Change Order requests and meeting minute distribution.
Ø Assist with the bidding, awarding, and procurement of subcontractors and suppliers.
Ø Support the day-to-day operations of a project; ensure the success of the field supervisor and project team.
Ø Maintain organized and detailed project records.
Ø Participate in Schedule Review Meetings and project schedule processes.
Ø Support project-closeout including punchlist creation, management, and closure.
Ø Manage subcontractors which includes adherence to the contract documents, work schedules, and logistic assistance.
Ø Collaborate with clients, architects/engineers, developers and others to determine budget and timeline.
Ø Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Ø Associate or Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field
Ø Entry level to 2 years’ experience
Ø Ability and desire to work collaboratively with large number of people to ensure successful project execution
Ø Desire to learn new skills and experience new situations, including software platforms (Procore, Microsoft Project)
Ø Willing to be “hands-on” as needed
Ø Ability to read building blueprints and interpret the construction plans and specifications.
Ø Excellent communication and analytical skills.
Ø Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
Ø Detail focused and results driven.
Ø Effective computer skills such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Etc.

This position is located in Columbus, Ohio.
