What are the responsibilities and job description for the Litigation Secretary position at Eastridge?
Eastridge Workforce Solutions currently have a great opportunity for a Litigation Secretary at a San Diego-based law firm. This position will report to three attorneys focusing on litigation defense work. The employee can work full-remote if living in San Diego.
Job Responsibilities
- File legal documents in federal and state courts, including e-filing and complex litigation filings
- Calendar court and litigation-related deadlines, in state, and federal cases
- Organize and accurately maintain physical and electronic documents and files in a timely manner. Creates and maintains working files and binders as requested. Utilizes Firm-provided software to accurately store email messages, and maintain and retrieve files.
- Schedule depositions, meetings, and other calendar commitments for attorneys
- Provides backup support to other attorneys and timekeepers as needed. Volunteers for overflow work assignments when time permits and actively seeks to maximize productivity and promote teamwork.
Job Requirements
- Solid knowledge of California and federal court rules for filing & serving discovery, motions, and pleadings.
- Experience with document management systems such as iManage, ProLaw, and Excel and a plus
- High proficiency with Microsoft programs (Word, Outlook, Excel) is required.
- This position can be hybrid or onsite, Monday-Friday. The position requires living and working in San Diego County. You must also possess excellent attention to detail and have the ability to multi-task.
Experience
- A minimum of five years of state and federal litigation secretary experience is required
- Currently living in San Diego County
