Eastridge Workforce Solutions is partnering with an industry leader in the sheet metal fabrication and precision machining, in the search for an experienced Production Manager. The Production Manager will direct the efforts of our manufacturing team of approximately twenty-five individuals across various work centers. Scheduling jobs and personnel effectively on a daily, weekly and longer-term basis is absolutely critical to success in this position.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage production of our first shift including oversight of the team members operating press brakes, punch presses, welding cells, fiberoptic laser, and other sheet metal fabrication processes
- Coordinate with the 2nd Shift Supervisor to ensure production continuity during the transition from 1st to 2nd shift on a daily basis
- Schedule jobs and personnel on a daily basis to meet production targets and deadlines
- Actively participate in weekly senior leadership team meetings
- Work with Procurement to ensure materials and supplies are replenished according to protocol
- Able to handle fast-paced environment with tight turnaround times
- Must be able to work both independently and as a team member
- Organize, monitor, and prioritize tasks, jobs, and people to meet production goals
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve production stoppages
- Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run parts, and sample workpieces; adhering to quality production standards and tight tolerance requirements
- Perform physical functions of the job including lifting up to 50 lbs. and maneuver as needed
- Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures, process integrity and regulations including keeping work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition
- Verify that part number, revision level, operation sequence, materials and program and are all correct and consistent
- Ensure that jobs are run in an efficient, organized and safe manner while following the work instructions on the print and/or work order sequence
- Maintain the quality of the workflow as required to ensure that the product meets or exceeds the customer specifications
Qualifications:
- Mastery of job scheduling and personnel allocation to production in a methodical, repeatable, and efficient manner. Prior job scheduling experience is mandatory.
- At least 5 years hands-on experience working in a sheet metal manufacturing facility
- Experience operating and troubleshooting press brakes, punch presses, and various other sheet metal fabrication machinery
- Previous experience managing a production team
- Demonstrated effective leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
