What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Eaton Corporation?
Eaton’s ES AMER PCS division is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician. The core hours are 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. The hourly rate for this position is $28.00 - 34.50/hr per hour.

What you’ll do:
This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of systems using PLC, electrical, mechanical, and processing skills. The incumbent will perform preventative and reactive maintenance on all production equipment and building/facilities.
- Repairs malfunctioning machines, equipment, and small tools/parts, and escalates problems requiring assistance to the supervisor for corrective action
- Performs repairs on electrical and electronic equipment including but not limited to motor replacement, hoist pendent replacement, fuses, motor brushes, and overloads
- Performs preventative maintenance and/or lubrication on machinery and equipment to ensure proper orientation, and makes necessary adjustments or repairs
- Performs repairs on hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
- Performs layout and fabrication of miscellaneous weldments from sketches and drawings using various welding equipment
- Performs machining and forming of parts and material as required
- Performs utility maintenance involving the repair, replacement, and installation of electrical, oil, and gas lines
- Utilize a variety of hand tools and power tools, welders and torches, presses, lathes, micrometers and other measuring devices
- Performs building and facilities maintenance as required
- Operates various industrial vehicles used in material/machine moving or snow removal
- Assists in the installation and relocation involving production machines and equipment
- Assists in on-the-job training of employees, work assignments in other job classifications, and projects
Qualifications:
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship
- Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 3 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applications must be US persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a US person as a US Citizen, US Permanent Resident (i.e. “Green Card Holder”), Political Asylee, or Refugee
- No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of LaGrange (50 miles) will be considered for this position.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Welding and PLC/electronic troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Completion of Industrial Maintenance Mechanic program at a technical school
SKILLS:
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
- Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools
