What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler - 1st Shift position at Eaton Corporation?
Eaton’s Electrical Power Distribution Controls Division is currently seeking a Material Handler to join our 1st Shift team. This position is based at our Arden, NC location.
Position Overview:
The primary function of this position is to sort, distribute, supply and package materials.

In this function you will:
- Ownership of storage racks including daily review of Racks, 5S , Rack Labels, etc
- Load and unload steel trucks and/or copper truck as required
- Move material throughout the Fabrication as needed including keeping brakes staged with unbent parts, delivering bent parts to the paint line, and delivering completed fabricated components as required to rack locations.
- Keep pallet bins full of pallets.
- Assist in breaking out steel from Amada skeletons when necessary
- Weigh and empty scrap bins and record weight in spreadsheet.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or G.E.D from an accredited institution
- Authorized to work in the United States without Company Sponsorship
- No relocation offered. Candidates must reside within 50 miles of Arden, NC in order to be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience as Material Handler
- Previous experience with Kanban
Position Criteria
- Able to lift 35 pounds – waist, shoulder, overhead
- Ability to climb ladders
- Proven history of safe work habits
- Must be able to work effectively without direct supervision
- Computer skills – Microsoft Office, Internet, Excel, etc.
- Must be able to work overtime – weekdays and weekends
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain forklift certification
