  • Demonstrates competency in computer applications as required for the position, with a working knowledge of pertinent Meditech functions especially scheduling and registration.
  • Refers patients to physician, nurse or therapists if unable to satisfy patient needs/answer questions.
  • Uses e-mail and telephone to communicate with staff, clinic schedule changes and to keep co-workers and Patient Access Manager appraised of problems/concerns in the Rehab department.
  • Working knowledge of release of information forms, insurance changes, and following required hospital protocols when registering patients.
  • Maintains awareness of hospital systems and procedures, location of departments, treatment areas and other patient services
  • Works efficiently and effectively to ensure that patients are taken care of in a timely manner with demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast paced environment with constant interruptions.
  • Proper telephone etiquette demonstrated with transfer of calls to appropriate area/personnel. Receives and delivers accurate messages when necessary.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by Patient Access Manager.
  • Schedules and registers all rehab patients in a timely and efficent manner.
  • Obtains required admission such as patient insurance/financial information, demographics, and ensures that an accurate medical record is created.
  • Obtains signatures for treatment, release of information, statement of permit to direct payments and release responsibility from patient after a brief explaination of the same. Witness's patient consent.
  • Actively collects payemtns, co-pays, and deductible amounts and completes receipts for all monies collected. Balances cash and records cash drawer at appropriate times.
