Eaton’s Electrical sector is currently seeking an Accounting Analyst to join our team. This position is based in Charlotte, NC.
The Accounting Analyst is responsible for all activities
related to the Accounting/Finance department, which involve the application of
established accounting principles, theories, and concepts to carry out daily
operations. They are also responsible to compute and prepare income statements,
reports, and analysis. Assume responsibility for the analysis of systems and
statements and for the development and implementation of improvements.

- Support the monthly closing and rolling forecast processes. Perform accounting statement preparation, financial planning and capital spending budgeting tasks for the particular activity, i.e., monthly closing journal entry and income
- Analyze operational and financial data, investigate variances, identify business drivers, and evaluate their impact on planned objectives. Document meaningful variance analysis commentary for management.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations in alignment with GAAP, SOX and Corporate Financial Policies.
- Research, compile and analyze financial data; present summarized results and recommendations to management. Serve as a financial business partner to the Satellite plant managers in the monthly review of the individual site income statements by preparing and communicating insightful analysis for their review.
- Responsible for management of & compilation of quarterly physical inventory data through the AS400 & MAPICS Inventory management system. Responsible to prepare quarterly physical inventory count summaries & cost revaluations and review them for accuracy. In addition to continuously improve and document the Inventory process by working with other functional groups.
- Complete year-end financial and tax reporting requirements and complete annual surveys for government agencies.
- Work in a team environment to drive improvement in financial processes through tools/systems, automation, and standardization.
- Reconcile and properly account for Capital Spending in accordance with Financial Policy H-5.
- Review receivables (intercompany and trade), resolve any out of balance situations with intercompany locations and investigate any aged receivable issues.
- Assist in resolving accounting problems related to the plants and assist on corporate requirements.
- Constantly review and document all processes and controls for improvements.
- Fulfill environmental health and safety responsibilities as outlined in the MESH program
- Report any near misses, incidents, injuries, events resulting in lost-time, or occupational diseases immediately to his or her supervisor, the MESH Supervisor, the Plant Manager and/or the Human Resources Manager.
- Identify and report any hazard(s) in his or her workplace through the near miss reporting process.
- Use equipment, materials, and machinery only as authorized, and for which training has been successfully completed.
- Follow procedures and wear personal protective equipment as required.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum of Two (2) years of work experience in Finance/Accounting
- Must be authorized to work in United State without company sponsorship now or in the future
- Bachelor’s Degree in finance or accounting
- Master’s degree in business or finance
- Experience in systems including SAP, Oracle Financials and Longview (Khalix)
- Experience working in a manufacturing plant, preferably for an engineered or configured to order business
- Experience with internal and external Audits
- CPA
- Strong analytical skills; intellectual rigor and curiosity; problem-solving capability
- Strong written and oral communication skills required. Must be able to gauge the needs of a variety of internal customers and adapt delivery style or level of detail as appropriate
- Process oriented and drives projects to completion
- Ability to think strategically and see big picture in a constantly changing business environment and market
- Attention to detail, personally committed to work quality and able to learn from mistakes
