Eaton’s Aerospace Division is currently seeking an Additive Manufacturing Engineering Specialist to join our team. This position can be based at our Orchard Park, NY or Davenport, IA facility.
Additive manufacturing (AM) is an exciting new technology that offers substantial benefits to the aerospace industry. The Eaton Aerospace AM team has successfully deployed the technology into the Aerospace global product engineering teams working on 15 programs with commercial awards on six different components spanning commercial and military aircraft original equipment (OE), space OE and military aftermarket. Additive Manufacturing can transform our product portfolio, with the vision of capturing $65m in AM revenue and $8.3M in Cost Savings over the next 5 years
Position Overview:
This position is responsible for identifying and developing specific additive manufacturing opportunities in the MSD Division of Eaton Aerospace working closely with the MSD commercial team, product engineering, and customers. This position will lead the implementation of the additive manufacturing strategy for MSD. Other activities will include identifying and scoping potential collaborations, new business opportunities, specific program targets, and managing customer engagement. The individual selected for this role must have a strong and innovative engineering acumen and the technical capability to leverage the capabilities of additive manufacturing to identify novel solutions. The individual in this role will be looked upon to provide Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) training and guidance to product engineers. The role will lead the development of these opportunities serving as both the applications engineer and PreLaunch program manager who leads the IPT during early product development. The ability to influence decisions remotely will be critical for this role which has responsibility for multiple sites within the MSD division.
