Eaton’s Vehicle Division is currently seeking a Manager of Global Logistics, to join our team at the Southfield, MI. location.
The Vehicle Group Global Logistics Manager is responsible for all System, and Process elements of the Global Logistics Strategy. In this new role, the manager will deploy this Logistics Strategy, aligned with the existing VG Materials and SCM Strategy and meet corporate expectations for Logistics management. The manager will develop and deploy an assessment and continuous improvement process to deploy this strategy at all Global Vehicle sites. This CI process will be aligned with the Materials Management Strategy and CI cycle.
The Global Logistics Manager drives the efforts of the Regional Logistics teams through a functional reporting relationship. The manager will launch and maintain a Global Logistics Council to maintain this relationship and align resources, goals, and priorities based on the Logistics CI cycle outputs.
The Global Logistics Manager will provide functional leadership and assist in personal development plans for all individuals impacting VG’s Logistics performance. This will include individuals working directly on logistics (e.g. regional logistics leads, shipping & receiving leads), and individuals working in roles that have a potential impact on logistics (e.g. inventory and replenishment analysts). This is critical to support the balance between OTD, DOH, and Logistics cost.

- Development of Regional Logistics Leads
- lobal Logistics Strategy to drive balanced cost and OTD performance, along with Assessment and Continuous Improvement tools to deploy the strategy.Launch and Manage a Global Logistics Council to drive continuous improvement of tools and process, share best practices, develop the team members, and drive improved business performance
- Manage an indirect team of Regional Logistics Managers to coordinate resources and priorities to achieve Logistics cost and performance goals.
- Actively participate in Regional and Global SIOP cycles, as needed, in order to align Logistics network designs with business levels and inventory goals.
- As a leader, this position requires an effective deployment of the Eaton Leadership model. The Global Logistics Manager must be an effective leader with professional presence and skills at developing individuals, setting goals and holding people accountable, leveraging resources, communicating effectively, and building organizational capability.
- Product Distribution Strategy Development and Implementation: Lead logistics optimization initiatives to improve
- Global Enterprise-wide Logistics Supplier Management: Involves supplier performance monitoring; Conflict resolution; Contracts Management; Rate Negotiations; Evaluation of Technological Enhancements; Management of Efficiency Improvement Initiatives
- Transportation Management System Selection & Implementation: Select and implement Logistics Performance Enhancement Technology.
- Corporate Governance: Develop policies and procedures to provide guidance to stakeholders to ensure adherence to the financial, regulatory, and compliance requirements of Corporate SCM
- Logistics Program Management to support Corporate and Business new product, new process, and restructuring projects.
- International Air Freight: Manage and resolve carrier issues; Support carrier transition; SOP development and implementation; Rate hike mitigation.
- Cash Flow Planning (Transportation): Compute transportation spend budgets for over 50 Global Hydraulics sites for the Hydraulics Group annual profit planning. Manage the same for the monthly Rolling forecast process.
- Support Working Capital Reduction Initiatives: Develop and present Inventory Reduction ideas to Sr. Management.

Qualifications
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution is required.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in one or more functional area (Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, Materials or Logistics).
- Minimum of 5 years of Logistics and Distribution experience, including contract development, performance management, cost and inflation forecasting, freight and duty management, etc

Minimum of 2 years of experience managing logistics teams and regional performance, globally, in areas such as Americas, EMEA and APAC regions.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
- APICS CPIM certification
- MBA or Master’s degree in Operations / Materials Management, Supply Chain.
- Working knowledge of ERP system (e.g. Oracle, SAP, QAD), databases, data warehouses, and bolt-on execution systems
- Demonstrated understanding of market and economic impacts on Logistics cost and performance, inflation impact, forecasting, cost modeling, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to build teams, develop people, hold people accountable, leverage indirect resources, build relationships with key partners, and manage without authority.
