Position Overview:
Eaton’s Aerospace Group is seeking a Plant Manager for our Bethel, CT location.
Reporting to the Director of Manufacturing, this person will lead the Bethel Leadership Team in achieving safety, production, product quality, product cost, action plans and targets. Additionally, this position will provide leadership to all functional groups to meet customer requirements including driving a highly engaged, high-performance, sustainable culture capable of achieving the business objectives, action plans and targets.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, direction and manage all operations functions to include manufacturing, operational excellence, materials, quality, EHS and human resources.
- Develop, deploy and review suitable short and long-range plans to achieve assigned plant and group objectives such as the profit plan, strategic plan, human resource organizational capability plan and forecasts.
- Coordinate and direct through managers, all functions of facility operations, such as: manufacturing, asset utilization, inventory control, facilities control, building layout and construction, maintenance, manufacturing projects and studies, cost controls, manpower utilization, work standards and administration.
- Responsible for contributing to the development of all plant policies, consistent with the direction of the overall Eaton organization.
- Review, maintain, control, implement corrective action and regularly report on the financial progress of the plant within the assigned group to maintain profit plan expectations and ensure incremental/decremental performance.
- Implementation and adherence to the Eaton Business System, Eaton Quality System, Eaton Lean Six Sigma, Balanced Scorecard and Business Operating Systems.
- Foster an environment of Employee Engagement by embracing Continuous Improvement culture tools.
- Ensure that Eaton policies, practices and initiatives are implemented and followed.
- Ensure compliance with all government, financial, environmental and labor regulations as required.
- Represent Eaton in local organizations and community service activities.
- Serve as a key business partner and decision maker in the Division.
- Drive customer satisfaction, cost of quality, inventory, productivity, organizational development, manufacturing profit and other operational metrics of the facility.
- Coordinate and assist with corporate initiatives, participating on teams in order to drive best practices across Eaton.
- Develop and maintain innovative and effective cost reduction programs throughout operations.
- Provide leadership and commitment in support of continuous improvements in quality, productivity and delivery performance
Position Criteria:
- Knowledge of materials planning systems (MRP/ERP) requirements and order generation process logic.
- Understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts surrounding production planning, scheduling, purchasing, supplier selection, inventory control, logistics, stockroom operations, and shipping/receiving.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Process Variation Reduction (Six Sigma) concepts and tool sets as they relate to materials management.
- Understanding of manufacturing technologies and processes.
- Knowledge of financial concepts and techniques utilized to establish value propositions of operational changes.
- Ability to direct and lead cross-functional process improvement teams.
- Working knowledge of Program Management tools such as ProLaunch.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment to include related professional and leadership experience
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on an ongoing basis without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 or more years of Aerospace experience.
- 1 or more years of plant management experience
Education:
- An undergraduate degree from an accredited institution is required. An MBA or advanced degree is preferred
