Production Associate - Trim Cell

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Production Associate - Trim Cell. The core hours are Monday through Thursday from 2:30 pm - 12:30 am. The hourly rate for this position is $16.25 - $20.00 per hour plus a $.60 per hour shift differential. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. What you’ll do:

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The incumbent will serve as an essential element of the Fabrication team by providing functional expertise and support in all areas of the Trim including but not limited to allocation of materials, assembly, inspection, testing, packing, and shipping.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Apply labels, stickers, locks, and quarter turns, remove trims from the paint line conveyer, assemble and install locks, and pack/band product.
  • Exhibit a strong adherence to quality by continually seeking methods of improvement for all functions of the position. Ensure that all products and parts adequately meet Eaton’s quality guidelines as they move throughout the production process. Perform quality checks as instructed.
  • Receive and carry out work assignments from management and internal customers to fulfill customer orders on time. Perform assigned functions from oral / written instructions, drawings, travel documents, DMM system, manufacturing information, and hand drawn layout requests. Closely follow established procedures for completing assigned functions.
  • Comply with all safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment safely and competently. Understand and meet all departmental safety objectives and goals. Keep assigned work area clean, organized, and orderly per 5S standards.
  • Ensure all safety and industrial hygiene requirements are maintained.
  • Work from manufacturing information such as Kanban cards, MI’s, requisitions, and oral or written instructions. Use of tape measures required.
  • Work with members of a team to effectively complete work assignments. Receive information from team members regarding customer needs and product requirements and utilize this information to perform one’s function.
  • Perform Lean Initiatives and routine preventative maintenance when required to ensure peak performance of all manufacturing equipment.
  • Perform special assignments and/or projects as assigned.
  • Exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve any obstacles or delays that may occur in the production process.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. with reasonable accommodation. Incumbents must be able to stand for extended periods with repetitive lifting, bending, and squatting inherent to this position.
  • Must be able to operate fork trucks, hand trucks, hand carts, hand tools, banding machines, scales, safety equipment, etc.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of Lean concepts.
  • Incumbent must meet the minimum Work Keys scores as required for the position
  • Proficient with computer use including Microsoft Business Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Some experience in assembly operation, sheet metal fabrication, or assembly requiring drawings or diagrams
