What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Manager position at Eaton?
Eaton’s Electrical CPDI division is currently seeking a Quality Manager to join our team. This position is based at our Raleigh, NC facility. Relocation benefits will be offered with this position.
The Quality Manager is responsible for leading the definition, execution and deployment of the Plant Quality strategies in conjunction with the plant leadership team to ensure relevant requirements, goals, and/or metrics are met or exceeded.

In this function you will:
- Develop and implements plant quality team structure and strategies to assure support of strategic objectives, plans and initiatives.
- Provide Quality Leadership and builds organizational capability across the business unit to drive collaborative strategies and solutions to ensure active leadership from management and ownership by all employees.
- Manage the plant Supplier Development and Quality function to implement supplier development and supplier quality strategies and tactics to assure supplier performance.
- Identify and coordinate Operational strategies & deployment for effective quality management processes and tools, including: Six Sigma, APQP planning, PFMEA, Control Plans, Supplier Assessment, PPAP, process & gauge capability CpK), Risk Assessment, Root Cause investigations, 8D, CAR/ DMR, and WISPER.
- Champion plant EQMS implementation to ensure required processes are established, implemented and maintained and drives continuous improvement of EQMS execution in support of growth and operational excellence.
- Champion the Quality Management System/ EQMS within the CPS Organization. Identifies and leads prevention-based initiatives across CPS to address barriers and enable sustainable improvements in prevention-based quality systems. Responsible for overseeing utilization of EQMS to control and improve business processes.
- Ensure customer quality and satisfaction by working with Sales, Project Management and Service to assure customer requirements deployment and compliance throughout the plant operation.
- Provide quality leadership and support in the development and launch of new products and related processes within the framework of a stage/ gate process (PROLaunch).
- Maintain and improves data collection systems with the goal to obtain data, monitor, analyze and identify product and customer issues to drive investigations and root cause identification assuring closed loop short term and long-term corrective and preventive actions to:
- Improve warranty CONC performance and achieve divisional goals.
- Improve product line field performance (DPPM) and achieve divisional goals.
- Improve customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with cross functional leaders and team members including Manufacturing Quality, Supplier Quality, Engineering, Service and Operations to drive effective problem solving and closed loop corrective action processes to improve overall product performance and customer satisfaction.
- Identify and lead Quality initiatives and projects in coordination with CPDI Quality leaders and Eaton Corporate Quality to reduce cost of nonconformance (CONC) and improve customer satisfaction (DPPM).
- Support periodic product field performance reviews including warranty and customer issue reviews with cross functional team members to drive improved performance.
- Support External Customer Audits as the site Quality Leader.
- Support the CPDI Quality Director with regional and global quality strategies and initiatives including the development of a Quality culture throughout the operation.

Qualifications
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of five (5) years experience in quality, manufacturing or engineering.
- Minimum of two (2) years experience in a team leadership and/or management role.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without out company sponsorship, now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree from an accredited institution.
- ASQ CQE or CMQ/OE certification.
- Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification.
- Project Management experience.
- Knowledge of National Electrical Code safety requirements.
