What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Technician III 1st Shift position at Eaton?
Eaton’s Electrical Division is currently seeking a Quality Technician III to join our first shift team. This position is based at our Youngsville, NC facility.

- Work from engineering drawings, specifications, schematics, diagrams, written descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform in depth and complex component level troubleshooting to support root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions
- Respond, identify, and resolve various internal or external quality issues with the support of Quality Supervisor and Quality Manager
- Compile and assist in analyzing data for process capability index (Cpk) and measurement system analysis (MSA) and organize data to support review
- Create and process Defective Material Reports (DMR) and Return Material Authorizations (RMA)
- Identify, quarantine, investigate and process non-conforming parts including determining the root cause collaborating with cross functional team members including product engineering, manufacturing engineering, supply chain, etc
- Support FMEA activities to ensure design and manufacturing issues are identified and risks mitigated
- Assist in the analysis and the evaluation of quality data to identify key detractors of scrap, rework & warranty and then implement error proofing solutions to achieve reduced cost of non-conformance (CONC)
- Assist in developing and maintaining quality procedures and work instructions necessary to comply with government, customer and corporate quality requirements
- Assist in quality audits, problem solving, workmanship defect reduction efforts, corrective and preventive action identification, analysis and reporting, failure analysis of returned units and other inspections as required

Qualifications
- Associate degree in the electrical engineering, electronics technology or computer science related field required from accredited institution
- Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation
- Bachelor’s degree in the electrical engineering, electronics technology, computer science related field required from accredited institution
- Experience in quality and/or engineering of electro- mechanical devices
- Component level troubleshooting experience
- Programming experience in Visual Basic, C+, JAVA or equivalent languages
- Working knowledge of SAP
- Working knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing concepts
- Working knowledge of ASQ and ISO auditing standards
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.)
- Ability to frequently stand, bend, and walk
- Ability to distinguish colored wires
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Must have basic computer skills (Excel)
- Ability to use good judgment and problem-solving skills to make informed decisions
- Demonstrates a strong customer service attitude
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to prepare, read, analyze, and interpret product drawings, manufacturing documents, and quality specifications
