Eaton has an opening for a Manager – Strategy & Business Development in the Industrial Sector, which includes Eaton Aerospace, eMobility, Vehicle, Filtration, and Golf Product Groups. This position will be based in Beachwood, OH. Relocation Assistance benefits are available for candidates currently located in the Continental United States.
The position is responsible for the evaluation of business development opportunities, coordination of competitive assessments and development of executive presentations for the Industrial Sector. Key responsibilities include strategic planning activities, competitive analysis oversight, Board of Director presentation creation, acquisition pipeline development, market analysis, alliance project management, preparation of monthly and quarterly senior management presentations, and other special projects.
Essential Functions include:
- Drive strategic thinking and help influence business decisions around strategic planning and organic/inorganic opportunities for growth
- Builds consensus among sector and operational teams; present recommendations to senior executives (with strong communication skills)
- Coordinate due diligence efforts across corporate and business operating teams
- Perform in-depth market, competitive, and financial analysis and understanding of legal and governmental compliance issues.
- Prepares business cases including strategic, financial and market analysis for merger, acquisition, divestiture, and alliance activity.
- Assists Industrial Sector Development & Planning Director in training Industrial Sector business development personnel as well as Business Group (Aerospace, eMobility, Vehicle, Filtration, Golf) business development personnel
- Leads or participates in Industrial Sector projects as necessary, with the ability to deal with time sensitive deliverables.
- Investigates and targets potential acquisitions, joint ventures and alliances.
- Develop analysis tools, processes and methodologies to support M&A activity and organic growth initiatives
- Support Corporate Development and Planning in base case and synergy case analysis
- Function as liaison with divisional operations and support personnel. Develop and nurture collaborative relationships with executives and other managers responsible for business development. Consistently demonstrate managerial courage in defending a position and handling conflict.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 8 years of business experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, corporate development, product management, finance, or strategic planning.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous professional experience working in management consulting, in-house corporate strategy, or corporate development a plus
- Master’s in Business Administration from an accredited institution
- Demonstrated ability to complete complex financial analysis
- Demonstrated advanced strategic agility and business acumen
- Demonstrated working knowledge of valuation models and methodologies
- Demonstrated track record of project leadership skills and experience
- Demonstrated expertise with MS PowerPoint and other MS tools
- Innovative and proactive problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise integrity and sound judgment in complex and ambiguous situations.
- Initiative to work independently and within a matrixed team environment, leveraging resources as needed.
- Candidate must have excellent verbal, written, listening and influence skills and be able to present facts clearly and concisely to all levels of the organization
- Travel may be required ~ 10% of time
