The Market Lead plays a critical role in our fast-paced environment that requires drive, grit, positivity, and enthusiasm for the challenge. In this role you will execute a variety of warehouse responsibilities including leading the Dark Store Operations team, buying and receiving product, picking, packing, and interacting with our partner drivers. This role will be instrumental to our continued growth and success and will have lots of room for career advancement within the organization.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Market Leadership
- Instruct Market Associates on daily agendas and tasks
- Help ensure Market Associate team is hitting daily stocking goals and metrics
- Help answer questions and coach Market Associates on shift
- Buying
- Ordering products from vendors when needed based on product depreciation and plans with Market Manager
- Receiving and Stocking
- Assist with receiving product from vendors, ensure physical count matches purchase orders, and resolve discrepancies when there are variances
- Stock product to accurate inventory locations
- Picking, Packing & Staging
- Pick and pack items on a per order basis for dispatch to customers
- Use detail orientation to ensure accuracy of items packed
- Amend order contents as needed for substituted or out of stock items
- Facility Organization
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace and product shelving
- Reshelve canceled orders promptly with priority attention given to refrigerated and perishable items
- Regularly lift, pull, push and rotate merchandise that weighs 25 lbs. and that occasionally weights up to 50 lbs.
- Manage waste and spoilage through strict compliance with ‘FIFO’ practices (First In, First Out)
- Be knowledgeable about and comply with facility safety standards
- Ensure the Standards of Conduct policy is followed to provide a safe and inclusive work environment
- Ability to maintain reliable shift attendance and punctuality to maintain a high functioning team environment.
- Ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time which may exceed 8 hours per day
- Other duties as assigned by management
- Be knowledgeable in the various types of products carried in the market
- Assist with inventory counts as needed
- High School diploma or GED equivalent, Bachelor’s Degree a plus
- Experience working in a restaurant, retail or warehouse environment preferred
- ServSafe Certification or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire (company sponsored)
- Strong work ethic and level of integrity
- Basic ability to use a computer, smartphone and tablet
- Team player who thrives in a fast past work environment
- Effective communication skills
- Go-getter mentality and the drive to work with your team to meet service level demands on each shift
- Positive attitude, helpful and respectful
- Individual with a track record of having the internal drive and motivation to grow within role
- Work with a fluid schedule and available during peak hours and weekends
- Ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time which may exceed 8 hours per day

- Ability to utilize tools such as ladders, box knives etc.
