This position will focus on the inbound and outbound transportation functions of eBay’s warehouse operations. Your efforts will be focused on local level carrier relationships as well as the day-to-day operations ensuring all transportation related SOP are followed across multiple facilities. This position will work directly with our Authenticity Guarantee operations team who are responsible for the end to end warehouse operations.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure total alignment with eBay corporate transportation team to execute best in class transportation solutions
- Partner with warehouse management team to ensure optimized package flow from inbound receipt to outbound shipping
- Partner with local level carriers and use those relationships to manage inbound/outbound schedules, equipment needs, and package handoff requirements
- Ensuring transportation SOPs are being followed in the facility (inbound/outbound scanning, carrier manifest, BOL creation, outbound/inbound sortation, staging, loading, audits)
- Perform audits to ensure the right shipping labels/routings are coming out of the tools (signature confirmation, audit of the routing decisions, carrier barcodes)
- Ensure transportation equipment is available in our facilities (gaylords, pallets, OTR’s)
- Maintain proper SOPs for transportation operations (inbound/outbound scanning, carrier manifest, BOL creation, outbound/inbound sortation, staging, loading, audits)
- Identify operational ways to optimize cost, accuracy, and speed of shipping services
- Identify gaps in performance, build and communicate operating plans to optimize operations as it relates to shipping
- Support in the daily operations of all eBays PSA shipping programs focusing on cost and performance
- Partner with operations security teams in identifying proper chain of custody handoff points within the operation, iterate processes and procedures to reduce root causes.
- Perform detail analysis as needed to help uncover root causes of shipping issues
- Maintain highest ethical integrity working with external third-party suppliers
- Ensure proper packaging requirements are being followed (carton selection, dunnage, taping of box, label placement)
- Supporting with proper FIFO process for outbound volume is followed
- Ensuring paperwork is filled out correctly as needed by the carrier (BOL, Manifest, Scan Sheet)
- Gather sample package details for analytics and carrier negotiations (actual package weight, package dimensions)
- Investigate Lost / Damaged packages
- Assist in training for new transportation operations in new facilities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience in warehouse inbound and outbound operations
- Experience with small package carriers
- Proven record of success in a goal-oriented, highly accountable, fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Process oriented with strong attention to detail, sense of organization, and planning and prioritization skills
- Be comfortable in a fast-paced facility environment
