EBSCO's Legal Department has an exciting opportunity for a new Associate Counsel to join the team! Reporting to the Deputy General Counsel, the Associate Counsel will provide legal advice and counsel to EBSCO and its portfolio companies pertaining to commercial transactions, focusing on the review, negotiation and preparation of legal documents.

EBSCO's Legal team is responsible for managing risk and providing comprehensive legal advice and assistance to EBSCO and its portfolio companies on a wide range of critical issues. EBSCO's Legal Department oversees all legal and compliance aspects of the Company, including general corporate, intellectual property and litigation matters.

Examples of Duties

Duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

* Provide general legal advice and counsel to clients in order to maintain operations within the scope established by law

* Draft, review and negotiate contracts

* Interpret and support implementation of applicable law and Company rules and policies

* Identify and analyze legal issues for clients

* Provide legal expertise to companywide projects or specialized legal matters and perform special research projects, as assigned

* Present clear recommendations to clients

* Educate clients on relevant legal issues

* Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, CLEs, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest developments in applicable law

Minimum Qualification Requirements

* Bachelor's Degree

* Juris Doctor (JD) degree

* Minimum of 3 years as a practicing attorney

* Admitted to practice law in at least one state and in good standing of applicable bar association
