What are the responsibilities and job description for the Contracts Specialist I position at ECC?
The Contracts Specialist is responsible for important procurement and subcontracting administration in support of ECC’s projects from the bid and proposal phase through project execution and closeout. The Contracts Specialist also supports the Contract Administrator with administration and compliance obligations originating from our Prime Contracts and Customers. In this position you will:
- Perform essential procurement duties including assistance with assembly of subcontractor / vendor requests for quotes and requests for proposals
- Assist project team with subcontractor / vendor prequalification and source selection
- Perform cost or price analysis and assemble procurement packages for purchase order support
- Enter Purchase Orders on ECC’s Online Purchasing System
- Assist Contract Administrators with issuance and administration of subcontracts
- In addition to the accountabilities above, other responsibilities, tasks, and deliverables may be assigned to the incumbent of this position
Requirements:
- The Contract Specialist 1 will perform his/her duties at an ECC Office during normal business days and hours typically between 7am and 6pm
- This position will require incumbent to be able to travel to other ECC offices and project sites within the United States and Internationally for at least 13 weeks of the year
- Well-developed business writing skills
- High proficiency with basic mathematics
- Proficiency and comfort with engaging computer and web-based business tools and other typical office equipment
- The ability to view a computer monitor and efficiently perform computer work for extended periods of time
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including email, word processing applications, and data management applications such as Excel
- This work may require sitting for extended periods of time as well as frequent exposure to repetitive motions of the wrists or hands
- Visual acuity to distinguish colors in varying degrees, view objects in multiple dimensions, and see fine points/details of artwork and lettering
- Incumbent must possess and maintain a valid passport
- Incumbents in this position must be able to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally
- Education: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree from a U.S or internationally accredited college or university. An Associate’s Degree with two years of experience in Federal Government contracting and procurement may be substituted for this requirement
