At Eclaire Health, our mission is to help people live a healthy lifestyle by providing the best healthy and delicious confectionary products.

We are looking for a Candy Specialist to join our Research & Development team to develop new confectionery products from concept to commercialization. The ideal candidate is a chocolate lover, dedicated to crafting the next generation of confectionery delights. This role requires a deep understanding of food science, a keen sense of taste, and a flair for innovation.

Salary range: $50,000-$65,000

Key Responsibilities

· Develop new candy recipes and improve existing ones, focusing on flavor, texture, and consumer appeal.

· Manage 3-5 development projects at any one time to meet project objectives and timelines.

· Formulate recipes, create benchtop samples, and perform iterative test work to optimize product design.

· Manage sample retention program for new products and organize sensory testing as needed.

· Develop new products by staying aware of current trends, new processes and ingredients that are being introduced in the marketplace.

· Maintain accurate and appropriate documentation to support costing, labeling, scale up and production of new and existing products.

· Collaborate with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality Assurance, Sales and Marketing Departments in a team environment to develop and launch new and improved formulas.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in food science or a related field.

· 2 years of proven experience in product development or manufacturing in candy, chocolate, or bakery fields.

· Strong understanding of food processing, ingredient functionality, and flavor analysis.

· Creative mindset with the ability to translate ideas into tangible products.

· Understanding of manufacturing products with chocolate is a plus.

· Solid organizational skills & ability to manage multiple projects and assignments.

· Strong understanding of the relationship between processing equipment and formulation.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-performing environment.

· Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised without constant direction.

· Knowledge and understanding of the metric system.

· Experience with Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Power Point, Word, Access and email.

Travel

Very little travel is expected for this position, but some local driving is required. Position is an office position due to the nature of working in the R&D lab. Remote work is not available. Standard hours are Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm. Schedule accommodations can be discussed during interview.
