Position Overview:
- An experienced Senior Level Enterprise Java Developer to be responsible for detailed technical designs, hands-on development, successful implementation and on-going support of high quality scalable enterprise Java business applications using proven methodologies and technologies while at the same time keeping current with the latest advancements and trends in the Java Enterprise Edition (JEE) platform.
Responsibilities:
- Converts functional specifications of business requirements into programming specifications.
- Designs, codes, documents and implements high quality scalable Enterprise Java solutions.
- Creates and maintains JUnit tests and performs full regression testing.
- Monitors operating efficiency of existing application systems & provides recommendations for improvement.
- Maintains records to document program development and revisions.
- Provides timely technical support and problem resolution for customer inquiries.
- May manage development of small projects or play a key role on a larger project team.
- Effectively interfaces with vendors when required.
- Provides comprehensive and accurate work estimates.
- Functions independently with limited work direction but is also a team player.
- Researches and recommend tools and methodologies for projects.
- Commits to deliverables with customers and management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop and deliver enterprise quality applications.
- Conduct proofs-of-concept and develop prototypes.
- Work in an Agile Work Environment.
- Find & remediate security bugs/flaws.
- Applies in-depth knowledge of multiple technologies and provides guidance to others.
- Provides technical leadership in Enterprise Java (JEE) application development.
- Conducts complete diagnosis of business problems based on a strong understanding of the technical architecture.
- Facilitates design sessions by presenting logical statements of business problems and designs.
- Effectively presents their own ideas but also accepts and incorporates idea from others.
- Designs applications with broad implications, requiring systems integration of one or more technical platforms.
- Exhibits excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Serves as a key point of contact within IT when working with customers.
- Manages customer expectations and ensures prompt and complete customer service.
- Customizes presentations to the interests of the audience.
- Can identify problems and risks and raises them to the appropriate level.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of JEE, Java Technology Stack, SOAP, RESTful, Spring Boot, SQL.
- Strong knowledge of Web Development using some of the following: TypeScript & Vue frameworks.
- Strong understanding of effective, pragmatic application security controls and related industry (e.g. OWASP) best practices.
- Good working knowledge with Team Foundation server, Git.
- Understanding of existing and emerging web standards such as HTML 5 and Mobile.
- Demonstrated ability to stay current with Application Architecture best practices, existing and emerging technology platforms, architectural and systems engineering industry trends.
- Ability to integrate APIs, write unit test cases, perform System Integration Testing (SIT).
- Demonstrates expert understanding of the JEE application development processes.
- Understands the Agile development methodology and serves as a resource to others.
- Can become an expert in the existing applications supporting the business area.
- Can ensure applications are performing up to requirements.
- Understands architectural issues, and factors them into decisions and recommendations.
- 7 year of object oriented analysis and design (OOAD) experience.
- 7 years of enterprise Java development design experience.
- Java Standard Edition 8 (JSE 8), Java Enterprise Edition 5 (JEE 5), Spring 3 (must be 3, not any lower), Spring MVC, Vue.js, JSTL, Spring AOP/Annotations/Security, Apache Maven, jQuery UI, JUnit, SOAP Web Services, IBM WebSphere 7 Application Server, SQL, Oracle & My SQL, Unix Scripting (KornShell), Ant, Git, TypeScript, JavaScript, CSS3, Bootstrap and HTML
- 7 years of Java Enterprise Edition (JEE) work experience.
Preferred Experience:
- Extensive hands on development experience with Cloud development and Storage services.
- SUN/Oracle Java Certified Developers.
Pay Rate: $80 / hr.
