POSITION DESCRIPTION
Supervises and coordinates activities or workers engaged in set-up, installation, and maintenance of machinery, equipment, physical plant, and in fabrication of repair parts and tools.
Assists workers in the diagnosis, repair, and calibration of machinery and production equipment. Supervises the dismantling, assembling, and installing of machinery and production equipment.
Interprets company policies for workers and enforces compliance with safety regulations. Analyzes and assists in resolving work problems.
Interprets specifications, blueprints and job orders for workers and assigns duties. Inspects completed work for conformance to specifications.
Assures proper waste labels are affixed and information legible and complete with proper start dates and waste label is visible from aisle for inspection.
Assures waste container lids are able to close and be sure they are fastened and must be kept closed unless adding or removing contents to prevent spills.
Assure required aisle space is maintained for inspections and access of emergency equipment. Assure that wastes are disposed of properly, not on the ground or in open or improper containers.
Assure that hazardous and non-hazardous wastes are not mixed with other hazardous and non-hazardous wastes. Being sure wastes and chemicals are used only in designated containers.
Report missing or damaged environmental signs and see to it that they are replaced. Assure that spills of oil, hydraulic fluid, chemicals, slag, dross, diesel, wrecker mud, etc is cleaned up as the spill occurs and put into appropriate containers.
Report materials as they are used so as to keep materials in stock. If leaking pumps, pipes, flanges, etc. are observed, and assure that materials are contained and cleaned up to minimize spread until repairs are made.
Ensure equipment or products are pressure washed thoroughly to remove any residues and are dust free before storing outdoors.
Assure that aerosol cans used up and are disposed of properly to keep them from becoming a hazardous waste. Minimize wastes by keeping paint can lids secured in order to prevent drying up or becoming contaminated.
Replace any spill clean up equipment such as 'speedy dry" as it is used up. Used tires, steel cases, and other non-lead scrap material needs to be pressure washed to remove lead residues per plant procedures before placing outdoors for disposal.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms.
The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 100 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to extreme heat. The employee occasionally works in high precarious places and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and / or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibrations.
The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud. Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment.
