Ecolab has an exciting opportunity for an Automation Engineering Manager to join our Global Healthcare Supply Chain organization, focused on manufacturing automation solutions. The Automation Engineering Manager will be responsible for the automation strategy and the execution of both capital projects as well as the expansion of our (MES) manufacturing execution system roadmap. This position will have a small, focused team of direct reports but will need to work cross organization to achieve our automation goals. The person will partner with stakeholders in global engineering, quality, supply chain, operations, and IT to ensure that projects are correctly scoped and delivered with appropriate technology and qualification standards. The Manager will be accountable for cost estimating, staffing, and delivery of the end-to-end scope, for each of the projects.The Global Healthcare Supply Chain team is a fast-paced and collaborative environment focused on accelerating growth and improving profits. Location: The ideal location will be in St. Paul, MN.
What You Will Do:
Execute automation & IT portions of manufacturing capital projects and MES solutions safely, within budget and on schedule, in accordance with Ecolab principles and best practices.
Ensure manufacturing automation projects deliver consistent OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) performance objectives with a strong return on investment that will enable improved quality, lower inventory levels, improve output per square foot and shorten the supply chain.
Lead any System Integrator selection including strategy overview, scope development, request for proposal, and full award.
Manage the day-to-day relationship with the System Integrator including all aspects ranging from technical engineering to commercial negotiations.
Seek out new opportunities that will advance our manufacturing digital capabilities to enhance our core competencies.
Partner with project teams and end user stakeholders to scope for automation and IT aspects of capital projects.
Lead a small team of 1-2 direct reports while educating and coaching local project teams on digital / automation standards as they relate to technology selection, system configuration, validation, and continuous improvement.
Demonstrates ability to influence without direct authority to drive projects to completion.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
7 years of industry experience, with at least 5 years of working experience in capital project process automation or ongoing site automation support
Knowledge of state of the art manufacturing technologies, including Manufacturing Executional Systems (MES) and equipment automation.
Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
Strong business and financial acumen, including business case development and capital management.
Effective oral communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail
Proven leader with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop junior engineers as well as manage projects.
Knowledgeable of industry standards for automation.
Experience in networking and IT/OT convergence.

Medical Device experience
Strong presentation skills
Proven facilitation, meeting/workshop management, project management and change management skills.
Hands on experience with Allen Bradley PLCs, SQL databases and Azure
Proficient in Power BI
Background in developing & implementing capital project policies & procedures.
Strong organizational, time management and communication skills
